Instructor: TBD
Storytelling is the beginning, the end, and the cornerstone of the arts. Using music, art, drama, creative movement, poetry, and literature, this course will explore the endless avenues of collaborative storytelling. Through the anchor of a storybook, students will study how to create their own unique musical arrangement and dramatic interpretation, and work together designing and directing a performance for family and friends during their last class of the term. Like our Early Stages class, “Sing, Make, Move!” Froglets is inspired by the Orff-Schulwerk approach.
A child in Froglets will:
-Enhance speech and language development.
-Engage in active storytelling through movement and dialogue.
-Develop gross motor skills through carefully choreographed dance sequences.
-Sing melodies and partner songs in unison and in a round with other students.
-Play Orff percussion instruments in a group while singing and keeping a steady beat.
-Engage in group cooperation.
-Perform for an audience of friends and family at the end-of-term class demo.
