Instructor: Sam Hawk

Inspired by the Orff-Schulwerk approach, this integrative arts class uses creative and rhythmic movement, singing, art, and storytelling to bring music to life and help young learners explore music in memorable and meaningful ways. This class includes an end-of-term in-class demo for friends and family on the last day of class.

 
Students in this class will:
  • Sing together in unison and in canon (round)
  • Move creatively to music they hear and music they create
  • Create their own rhythmic and melodic patterns through song
  • Express their own experiences with music and class stories through arts and crafts, including making their own instruments
  • Build a strong foundation for their continuing music, movement, and artistic education
