In this ensemble, students will learn to play music as a team. Through a communicative and creative rehearsal process, student musicians explore and push their boundaries, and learn how they can contribute to the group. It is necessary to have a basic understanding of either violin, viola or cello, so that we can start the collaborative process from day one. Students must bring their own instruments and be dedicated to at home practice.
A student in Beginner String Ensemble can expect to:
-Offer support and suggestions throughout the term.
-Bring an open mind to creating music.
-Play parts independent from what the rest of the group plays at times.
-Deepen understanding of song construction/music theory.
-Improve at playing their instrument.
-Perform for their community.
WHAT TO BRING:
Students will need to bring their instrument, music (provided in class), and a pencil to every class.
